Hello Families:
This week we will begin the letter "B".
Students will be able to recognize the letter B and the sound it makes. We will review words that begin with "B". Our Frog Street Press character is Benjamin Bunny!
We will practice our fine motor skills by using our dot painters to paint the letter B. Children will also need to follow instructions while gluing pictures that begin with our special letter.
We will do a numbers activity with balloons. We will focus on numbers 1 through 5 while creating a balloon craft.
On our cooking Friday, we will make our own butter. Students will make butter while incorporating counting. When we have finished, we will put our butter on bagels and bread!
Remember - Back to School Night on Wednesday!!!
It's sure to "B" a great week!!

Week of September 19th
Hello families,
Here's what we will be working on for this week:
Letter A
Students will be able to recognize the letter "A" and the different sounds it can make. We will discuss words that start with "A" during our circle time.
We will meet "Apple Annie"- our friend from the Frog Street Press Curriculum - and sing a song about words that start with "A".
We will do the first of our regular weekly letter worksheets, which involves dot painting the letter and identifying pictures that begin with the letter of the week.
On Wednesday, students will taste apples in red, green, and yellow, and we will graph our favorites.
We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day on Friday and begin our cooking the alphabet program. An informational page about this will be sent home on Monday. Students enjoy cooking their own simple treats that begin with the letter of the week. This is a great way to tune fine motor skills and foster good self esteem. The finished result is something they are proud of - and they taste good too!!
Please contact me with any questions at any time!! I am looking forward to diving into this curriculum with the children! We will have so much fun!!

The First Day of School!!
WOW! We had such a great day!! I was so impressed at how wonderfully behaved and excited the children were today!!! We had a circle time where we sang songs and read the book, "If You Take a Mouse to School". Please be sure to check out the "Pictures" tab. I uploaded a few pictures of the children while they were coloring their mouse pictures! The children also drew pictures of their favorite part of the day!! The answers ranged from playing with choo-choo trains to making new friends! I look forward to seeing everyone again on Friday!!!

Week 1
Hello parents,
This week we will be adjusting to our time in preschool. We will talk about class rules by reading the book "How Do Dinosaurs Go to School?"
We will also read "If You Take a Mouse to School" - ask your child what they think would happen if they took a mouse to school with them!!!
We will meet our very own Mr. Mouse! (Hint hint parents - he is a cardboard mouse!! Not real!!!)
He likes a quiet classroom or else he will wake up! We will practice being extra quiet for Mr. Mouse!!!
We will work on crafts and activities that focus on going back to school. Through dramatic play, we will discuss what is a "good choice" and what is a "bad choice" when it comes to various school situations, like sharing, quiet time, taking turns, etc.
As always, please contact me at anytime with your questions!!
