Week of November 28

It's hard to believe we are in the last week of November. I hope everyone had a meaningful holiday!!
Here is our schedule for the week:

Monday: Letter of the week "H"
Students will be able to recognize the letter and the sound it makes. We will talk about words that start with "H" and complete our letter "H" dot painting activity.
We will begin singing Christmas, winter, and holiday songs in preparation for our winter "concert".

Wednesday: We will talk about the weather and the upcoming season of winter. We will talk about the changes we will see, read a book about the upcoming season, and complete a worksheet on types of weather. Incorporated will be counting skills (counting snowmen, snowflakes, etc.)as well as a discussion on hibernation and where animals go in the winter.

Friday: Cooking Friday. I am torn between 2 recipes this week, so it will be a surprise on Friday!

Cooking day!!!
We will make graham cracker sandwiches today. Students will use fine motor skills to spread grape jelly on graham.crackers and make them into sandwiches. Simple, but fun and tasty!!
During art, we will make our pilgrim and Indian hats for Monday's feast. Details about the feast will be posted ASAP on the board outside the classroom.

We have been talking a lot about the first thanksgiving. Ask your children about pilgrims, Indians, the mayflower, etc. They really are absorbing all of the information and I'm so proud of them!!
